Greetings, humans. I am Admiral McDowall and this is the Fleischerverse. It is an expansive world that features Fleischer, the superhero without a clue. Plus members of The Group, including Shatman, Spocky, Noir Dragon, Catman, Former Black Panther and Al. Oh, and let us not forget the simply unforgettable Countess Can’t Stop Em from Floppin. […]
Some years ago I officially went insane and decided to rewrite L. Frank Baum’s first Oz novel (which, like the first 14 books, is public domain), The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, taking Dorothy Gale out and putting my own superhero character, Fleischer, in. A draft of the novel is finished and being revised, and myself […]
It’s been a while, but Fleischer is back in an all-new mini-adventure. This time out he discovers that his Golden Age pal Atomic Mouse is in trouble and he offers a helping hand in the way that only Fleischer can. The script is by Ed Gross and Leon McKenzie, the art by Fernando Sosa.
As noted in part one of this series (click HERE), Fleischer began very much as a parody of Superman, and added to that was a parody version of Green Lantern. This one, however, was named Green Latrine, who we described as British actor Dudley Moore (Arthur) “mixed with Green Lantern with puke stains.” Like Fleischer, […]
Not the Beatles: The F.A.B. (For All Britain) Four is a parody spy series that imagines a fab foursome consisting of John Lemmon, Paul McCartwheel George Harristone and Ringo Scarr were spies at the height of Fabmania in the 1960s. Your Mummy Should Know is an ebook tale that pits the Four From F.A.B. against […]
Artist Fernando Sosa, who hails from Argentina, provided the image and bio below, which chronicles many of his amazing accomplishments. His art can be found in issues 1, 2 and 4 of Fleischer & The Group, and in a number of Media Geek & Friends, Al’s Place and Fleischer & Friends comic strips.
This particular strip was just to serve as a quick introduction to the various characters. Since the time of this one, Fleischer has made occasional appearances and more recently we’ve introduced the angriest fan on the planet, Kenny Zee. Roddy serves as an early version of the character that would become Fleischer’s arch enemy, Epa, […]
Embrace your inner moron. From the beginning, that was the philosophy behind Fleischer & The Group. The idea was to take any concept that came to mind – no matter how silly or outrageous – and see how it would fly when put in the words or actions of Fleischer and his teammates. Actually, Fleischer […]
Remember in the ancient days when the world went insane for James Cameron’s Avatar? We do and we did, which resulted in this installment of the Media Geek & Friends comic strip in which Media Geek, his girlfriend Eileen, Fleischer and (not so much) Roddy are worried about the growing obsession for the film that’s […]
At the moment we’ve got nine issues of Fleischer & The Group in various stages of production. While we’re not ready to launch the comics yet, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce readers to the characters making up this title through this preview comic. In a sense, the proceedings are “hosted” by Golden […]
Back in 2007 I was excited that there was going to be a live action Underdog movie, the assumption being that we’d get a CG version of the title character. But the filmmakers – for reasons I still can’t figure out – thought it would be better to go with a real dog. The decision […]
More and more I find myself wondering how Fleischer would react to certain situations, and after watching the feature film Star Trek: First Contact, I couldn’t help but imagine our hero’s encounter with the Borg. The result is the strip which follows, which was written by Ed Gross with art by Fernando Sosa.
Media Geek and his friends have been kicking around the Internet for a number of years, but a new age is dawning for MG, his girlfriend Eileen, the intelligent talking ape Roddy, Timmy Tribble and the superhero without a clue, Fleischer, as they encounter the power of the Glass Onion, a mystical device that dissolves […]
The art for this first installment of Fleischer & Friends: Al’s Place (which is set at the home base for the characters making up the forthcoming comic book series Fleischer & The Group) was handed in by Fernando Sosa the same exact day that Warner Bros. revealed its slate of films based on various DC […]
New York Comic-Con has just ended and reportedly it broke all attendance records. Apparently pushing them over the top was the arrival of Media Geek, Eileen, Timmy Tribble and Roddy, the latter of whom finds it impossible to keep his opinion of happenings around him to himself.
Media Geek, Timmy and Roddy are online for their latest screening of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, when they’re joined by Kenny Zee, who is described as the world’s angriest geek. Script is by Edward Gross and Leon McKenzie, the art by Avisek Chowdhury.
In this installment of the Media Geek & Friends comic strip, the focus is on Fleischer (whose comic book launch will be coming soon) and his pet, Mr. Skimbleshanks (who will actually be introduced in the pages of said comic). Written by Edward Gross & Leon McKenzie, the art is by Avisek Chowdhury. Below […]
Over the past couple of years we had done a number of comic strips focusing on Fleischer and some of his friends who were not originally designed to be part of the Fleischerverse. Among them were Media Geek (Ed Gross’ sort of online alter ego), Roddy (Epa’s “slower” brother) and Timmy Tribble, who dedicates himself […]
Leon McKenzie and I had brought our comic Fleischer to Bluewater Productions, and shortly thereafter we were offered the opportunity to co-write The Mis-Adventures of Adam West, a bizarre comic in which a mystical amulet made TV’s original Batman younger again, while having him move between time and space for a variety of adventures, all […]
